Hi all,
I'm trialling out vncscan and so far we are very impressed. I am curious why the option if selecting computers and viewing them in a new tab doesn't work on our computers. We've tried it now on 2 computers.
ie. we choose say 4 computers and select thumbnails->new tab
When we go to the new tab maybe 1 of them shows the thumbnail and the others just have a barameter underneath them going on seemingly forever not showing the thumbnail.
Is there something I can do to fix this?
Also how long should it take to see ... say 4 thumbnails (less than say 10secs?)

1 other qn. When reopeing vncscan how do I tell it not to open the previouse tabs that were opened in an ealier session.

The most common causes for the thumbnails never showing a desktop are Windows permissions and firewalls. 

The traffic takes place on the standard Windows file sharing ports so make sure that those are opened to the network if there is a personal firewall on the computers.

You must have Administrator level access on the remote computer for the screen to be captured.  You can set this by right-clicking the group that the computers are in and choosing 'Group Properties'.  The tab that you're looking for is called "Identification".

Something is definately wrong. Still no thumbnails.
I have no firewalls on both my PC and the remote one. I am logged in as administrator on both pc's. Simple filesharing is ON. I've applied the XP SP2 max connections as per the wmv movie.
Could it be something else?

The remote version of ultra was deployed from my vncscan pc (my computer)

BTW how do you make sure the tabs dont come up next time you open vncscan?

any help would be appreciated.

While I'm at it:
Is there a way to make the custom action of double clicking an icon go into VNC in readonly mode (and/or half screen mode) ?

That is very strange.  When you say that no image shows up, do you mean that it's a white image or is it still the blue "please wait" image?

If you don't want the thumbnails to open the next time, you can right-click the tab header and choose "close" and answer the dialog box that you don't want it to automaticaly start with vncscan.

Its the blue "please wait" screen.

BTW if I go connect->VNC (thumbnail size) it works find except I have to do this for each computer seperately. THen I have on my desktop a thumbnail of 4 pc's simultaneously (seperate instances).
But this is no where as good as having them in a new tab.

I am having this exact problem now too.  I am a domain administrator and I do have access to the computer.  There is no firewall on the computer I'm trying to connect to either.  Any ideas why I get a constant "Please Wait" screen and no actual screenshots?

Did this just recently start happening for you?  It could be an antivirus program trapping remote.vncscan as a "virus" because it sees that it's accessing the remote computer's desktop.  That happens from time to time.  The best answer in those cases is to create an exception.
