remote computer insists on rebooting in safe mode

I installed Vncscan on a 2003 Server in a VMWARE environment.  I rebooted a computer

on the LAN into safe mode, and now, even when I select Full Windows Mode from VNCSCAN,

it keeps rebooting into safe mode.  I'm trying to get it t book back into normal mode.

         Any ideas?  Thanks!

         Mike

PS - The computer I rebooted into safe mode is XP Pro.

Try downloading http://www.vncscan.com/downloads/safeboot.zip and running it on the computer that is still in safe mode.  That should reverse it.

    Thank you,

Thanks Steve.  Is this a problem with VNCSCAN or something that I've done wrong?

    What a great program!

The most common cause of this is either a firewall blocking communication or remote registry services not running.  Authentication errors have also been known to cause this.

That safeboot.exe file should take care of those problems, though.

Re: remote computer insists on rebooting in safe mode

Hi, i am trailing your (until now) very nice program. Tried the safemode reboot remote compu option. After restart can't connect :( Ideas?

After manual reboot over there PC reboots again in safemode. and again, etc.

Is it the idea to run the safeboot . exe and then restart?

Done that, keeps coming back in safemode. What else can i check?

Re: remote computer insists on rebooting in safe mode

Great! Found out i have to put in "Yes" instead of the Y or y that i did a few times.... :(

However connecting remotely with the computer in safemode will do but after doing my stuff and try to reboot via the reboot option, the script is not accepted by the computer that runs in safe mode.... Must the user that issues the command be local or over the domain? Your comments please.

Was there an error returned when attempting to use the reboot wizard to reboot back into normal mode?

    Thank you,

Re: remote computer insists on rebooting in safe mode

The script that has to run on the remote pc is not accepted, because credentials are not correct. However all other connections with these credentials give no problem whatsoever.
