Re: Vista x64 - VNCScan Crashes - Debug info included in post

It is strange that I get the UAC prompt and others do not.

The original install on my Vista x64 machine was the version of VNCScan that would crash (2008.4.4).   Right from the onset, whenever I would start vncscan.exe I would get the UAC prompt.  It is during this time that I tried the compatibility options.  Based on the VNCScan web site, I left the "Run as administrator" option checked.

Then I uninstalled (using just the app's uninstaller) the 4.4 version and installed the interim version with x64 support.  I did not need to re-enter my license key and, the "Run as administrator" setting was remembered.  Still, the UAC prompt occurred everytime.  Then I noticed the latest version, 2008.6.1.

This time I did an app uninstall in the usual fashion.  I also manually pruned any leftovers....folders, files, registry entries.

I then installed 2008.6.1.  This time I did need to re-enter my license key, however, there was obviously still something left over from the previous installs since this install let me know I only had 8 days left on my trial.  Odd...I says to myself.

With 2008.6.1 installed and my license key entered, and with NO compatibility options set for for my user session or for all users, I still get a UAC prompt whenever I start VNCScan.

    I'm open to suggestions.
