When I try to edit a presaved VNC Deployment profile the attached error occurs.

My documents is redirected to "\\mag.local\data\users\my documents\" by GPO. My desktop is also redirected to a similar location. \\mag.local\data\ is a DFS namespace and is not writeable.

Have you any suggestions how to get past the bug, other than recreate the entire profile?

 

Edit - forgot to mention this occurs on multiple PC's within the same environment.

It's not a problem with it being a UNC.  It looks like a permissions problem.  Can you please verify that you have read/write access to the folder and subfolders?

I attach the support file locations from my settings. I do have full permissions to \\mag.local\data\users\bwiggins\My Documents\.

\\mag.local\data is the root for a DFS namespace. It is not possible to write files here or allocate permissons. The problem seems to be that VNCscan is attempting to read/write \\mag.local\data\settings.reg which does not and can not exist.

 

 

Try this as a test:

1. Create a folder naed c:\vncscan
2. Change "\\mag.local\data\users\bwiggins\My Documents" to  c:\ in every text field applicable in that screen capture
   
3.  Close VENM and relaunch it

Does it work, now?

I created the directory on C:, I also had to create the sub-directories data, profiles and jobs. After pointing to the new location is seemed fine. I then change C: to H:, H: maps to \\mag.local\data\users\bwiggins\My Documents\ and this also works without error.  

It seems the problem is with using the UNC, and maybe in combination with the DFS namespace.
