Re: problem connecting to existing and new clients

If you create a brand new deployment profile for UltraVNC and accept all of the defaults all of the way through, does it happen?

    Thank you,

Re: problem connecting to existing and new clients

I was on vacation last week.

I started having issues first of week.  Has been this way all week.

I do not see anything about VNC in the log file.

Have never used anyting but the Ultra since I started using your console a couple of years ago

What version of VNCScan are you running?  Have you tried the suggestion about creating a new deployment profile yet?

    Thank you,

Re: problem connecting to existing and new clients

Tried to build a new Deployment Wizard to install Tight   and and another to  install VNC4.

When I launch the wizard to install to the client

it still comes up showing the Ultra as the install.

Did this several times and it keeps coming up Ultra.

I launched the wizard and manually changed the type to Tight128  before executing the script

when the command window came up showing what it was doing,  it said it was inistalling Ultra

Re: problem connecting to existing and new clients

Started first of week...  I was on vacation last week.

    Been doing it all week.

Nothing about winvnc in the apps log.

There are a couple of errors on    ".net" app.   Would that have soomething to do with it?

I have only used Ultra since I started using your console about two years ago.

    Never tried the other flavors

Re: problem connecting to existing and new clients

How strange!  What version of VNCScan are you running?

I opened the deployment wizard, typed in the name of a new profile, selected "tight128" from the drop-down box, put in a VNC password, and then chose the defaults through the rest of the deployment wizard and it worked great.

    Thank you,

Re: problem connecting to existing and new clients

New profile installed and I connected.

That is good, but guess I will have to wait and see if the I can reconnect at later point.

I have seen it work ok for a few hours and then quit connecting.  Has been as long as the next morning.

    will keep tracking

Re: problem connecting to existing and new clients

So far, the machines that I redeployed with the new push wizard are still connecting.

I will check again in the morning and see if they are still working....

In your "spare time"   heh..       I wondered if it would be possible to add to the next release a column on the console to show which  flavor of VNC is running along with the version number?

With the little scare earler this week about possibility that some earlier versions of VNC might be vunerable to attach,  it would make it much easier to check than having to go to each machine in my list and do the "check version".

    Just a thought.

thanks for your help so far...  maybe I will have good luck on connection tomorrow.

Re: problem connecting to existing and new clients

Well, did what you suggested Friday in this link and have been able to connect through the weekend and this week.  Maybe this will help some of the others that I have seen here with a similar issue.

I did see that there was a new update Friday afternoon. 2006.11.1.9

I installed that and also rebuilt the wizard for deploy.

    So far...  so good.

thanks for all your help and suggestions.  Your console saves me a lot of extra work every day!
