    VNC Security for Admin Machines

    Hi everyone,

First off, this is my first deployment of VNC to a network, and the VNCScan Tool has made it so much easier than I thought it could be.  We are able to remote manage so many more of our issues, it is fantastic, and the site licence is well worth it.

One question I have regarding VNC/VENM security - how we, as administrators, ensure that VNC cannot be run on our own workstations, or if we suspect someone is remote viewing us, how do we kill that?  I'm more of a networkig guy, so the OS/software stuff is new to me. :)

    Thanks in advance.

    Rob

Thank you, Rob.  I love hearing positive feedback!

The best way to keep users from turning the tool against you would be to make sure that they don't have the admin access to your PC required to remotely install the VNC server.  You can also turn your XP/Vista firewall on and check the box for "no exceptions".

    Does that help?

    Thank you,
