Cannot get query on incomming connections to work.

    Hi There.

I have now tried for several days to get the query function to work.

The problem is that i cannot get VNC to ask the user before allowing the connection,

I have tried to choose "ask user for permission upon connection" when running deployment wizards. this didnot work.

I then tried to edit the config files manually and change set  QuerySetting = REG_DWORD 0x00000003 and this should be +:Query, ?:Query, -:Reject.
    But it does not work...

The goal is, to let any IP connect to client and query for 30 secs before autoaccept.

    Any help is very appreciated.

I am trying to deploy UltraVNC latest version.

Re: Cannot get query on incomming connections to work.

This is something that I've been trying to get a straight answer from the UlrtaVNC guys for quite a while.  This works every time if you do it from the workstation using the server properties panel but is very flaky if you attempt to do it by setting the proper registry settings.

We're still researching this issue and hope to have it resolved soon.

    Thank you,

    hmm okay,

Is it possible to capture a working configuration from a client, and deploy that one onto other clients, as somekind of workaround for this issue?

This should work.  If you export the HKLM\Software\ORL key and subkeys into a .REG file, you should be able to include it in a new deployment profile.

If this works for you, can you please let me know?  I'd like to document the outcome of this.

    Thank you,
